Shout it Out

If you’ve spent any time with us or listened to us online you know we believe in “shouting it out”! What this means for us is shouting out praise, shouting out with a voice of triumph, and shouting it out despite any circumstance or happening in our lives. Shouting it out is a choice and if you choose it often enough it will become a habit! Let’s talk about why we shout, what to shout, when to shout, and who to shout it to.

We “shout it out” to correct our minds. If you’ve been alive for very long at all, you’ve probably made a mistake or two. There’s a good chance you have been misunderstood. Someone, at some point, has probably done you wrong. All of these things can lead us to feel like a victim. The mindset of victimhood comes from a focus on the wrong done, by us or others. This mindset is rooted in oppression and defeat, which are both the language of the enemy. By shouting it out we refocus our minds onto the solution!

Romans 8:7-9 (TPT) says “In fact, the mindset focused on the flesh fights God’s plan and refuses to submit to His direction, because it cannot! For no matter how hard they try, God finds no pleasure with those who are controlled by the flesh. But when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life, you are not dominated by the flesh but by the Spirit. And if you are not joined to the Spirit of the Anointed One, you are not of Him.” Your way of thinking can make you contrary to God’s plan. That puts you on the losing team. Shouting it out takes you from being controlled by the flesh to being controlled by the Spirit of God. It takes you from victim to victor!

You join yourself to the Spirit of the Anointed One through salvation. After salvation, the enemy will try to convince you to continue living by the flesh. But now you have a weapon against the enemy; you are joined to the Spirit of God and are controlled by that very Spirit! This empowers you to shout it out and say “NO!” to the enemy!

So what exactly are we shouting when we “shout it out”? We are shouting the Word of God! Psalms 34:1-3 (KJV) says “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” This is the key that unlocks the door to victory! We encourage you to read this whole Psalm and let it encourage and empower you. We know from reading Psalms 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of His people. We know from Psalms 16:11 that there is fullness of joy in His presence. We access that joy by shouting out the Word of God!

We shout any time we feel our minds shifting from the goodness of God to the pain of circumstance. Living by the world’s way we would only shout when we see the evidence of clear victory. At football games, you don’t see any touchdown dances until the touchdown is made, but we get to live a different way. We get to start each day from a position of victory in Christ! Elevation Worship has a popular song, “See A Victory”. The lyrics don’t say “I’ve seen a victory”. No, they say, “I’m going to see a victory”. This song is a great example of shouting it out despite what you currently see! We shout based on the knowledge of the Truth of the Word. We shout because we know the devil is a defeated foe! When we are operating by the Word of God we get to sing and shout ahead of time, because we have that assurance that we WILL see a victory, even if we don’t just yet.

We want you to transition from misery to joy, from hopelessness to hope-filled, from desperate to confident, from victim to victor! You do this by shouting it out, in every season, in every moment. No ifs, ands, or buts! We pray that as you read the Word of God you will be empowered by all the promises God has already given to you. We pray the Holy Spirit will quicken you in good times and bad to shout it out and proclaim the Word over yourself and any situation! We are confident that the Word works. It really is that simple. Put it to the test, and you will gain that same confidence!
