Kingdom Living

Kingdom Living means living in the promises of God. It means doing all God wants you to do and having all God wants you to have! Kingdom Living requires Kingdom Mindsets and Kingdom Attitudes. We want to share with you some Biblical insight that we believe will help you to shake off those worldly mindsets and worldly attitudes.

What is the effect of living with a worldly mindset? Instead of living in the promises of God, you end up doing what the devil wants and having whatever the devil gives you. That’ll sober you up, won’t it? The enemy would like for you to believe that you are having things your way, but if your way doesn’t line up with the Word and the Will of God, you’re actually being used by the enemy.

Before that steps on your toes too bad, you need to understand, we don’t share this to bring condemnation or shame. We share this to bring light and to bring freedom! If you realize as you’re reading this that you have not been experiencing Kingdom Living, boy is it time to Shout It Out! Things are about to change for you big time! Now that you know, you can allow the Word and the Holy Spirit to bring about a change!

Maybe this is all new to you. If it is, look back at our last blog, “Have You Been at the Altar” to read how to get your salvation sorted out now. Or maybe you’ve known these things to some extent, but haven’t been walking in that knowledge. Jesus said in John 10:10 (AMPC) “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

The way to access this Kingdom Living, abundant, full of joy life is to allow God to be Lord of your life. Lord is defined as someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. Making God "Lord" means making Him boss over your life. It means deferring to His instruction. It means having total faith and trust that His ways are higher. It means understanding scriptures like 1 Corinthians 13:11-12 (NLT) which says “When I was a child, I spoke like a child. I thought like a child. I understood like a child. Now I am a man. I do not act like a child anymore. Now that which we see is as if we were looking in a broken mirror. But then we will see everything. Now I know only a part. But then I will know everything in a perfect way. That is how God knows me right now.” The “then” this scripture is referring to is when we are made perfect in Heaven. To make God Lord over your life is to know that you only see fragments now, like a broken mirror, but God knows everything perfectly.

Another key to accessing Kingdom Living is understanding the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to guide you every single day. God created the world, Jesus came to save it then went up to be seated at the right hand of God the Father. The Holy Spirit then descended to the Earth to take up residence in believers! Don’t stop after making God Lord and believing that Jesus’ death and resurrection brought you salvation. It’s time to be filled with the Holy Spirit!

Have you ever thought of the disciples and wished you could have it like they did? They were able to be in the presence of Jesus! They went places with Him and followed His instructions. You may have thought to yourself “That would make life much easier if I had Jesus standing beside me pointing the way”. We have great news for you! What Jesus was to the disciples, the Holy Spirit is to you! Jesus was external to the disciples, meaning they could come and go from His presence. The Holy Spirit is internal to you. Wherever you go, there He also goes. His presence has taken up residence inside of you!

When Jesus shared with the disciples that He would be leaving they were distressed. But Jesus comforted them in John 16:7 (AMPC) saying “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].” The Comforter Jesus is referring to is the Holy Spirit!

God, our Lord, communicates with us through Holy Spirit and His Holy Word (the Bible) to renew our mindsets and attitudes so that they are Kingdom Mindsets and Kingdom Attitudes. We pray that you would allow Him to have His way in your life so that you can thrive in the abundance of Kingdom Living! If you would like someone to pray with you, we are always available after service or by phone at the church office. We love you!
