Powerful Prayers

We want to share with you all about the awesome power of prayer. Time and time again we have seen how prayer changes things. Not just in our lives, but in the lives of those around us! We are excited to share some key verses and insights with you.

Have you ever read Matthew 7:7? Jesus says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you". That's Jesus inviting us to shoot the breeze with God through prayer. It's all about reaching out and having a chat with Him, knowing He’s got our backs. It doesn’t have to be a formal event. God is happy to hear from us anytime and anywhere.

And how cool is James 5:16? It's like saying, "When you pray, things happen!" Our prayers really do pack a punch, especially when we're living right with God. We encourage you to really dive into the Word on the topic of righteousness, so that you can step into that authority and start praying like you mean it!

Whenever life gets overwhelming, we love turning to the Psalms for comfort and peace. Psalm 34:17 is like a big hug from God, reminding us that when we call out to Him, He’s all ears and he is ready to rescue us from our troubles. Talk about having a friend in high places!

And then there's Philippians 4:6-7, which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” No need to fret because when we pray, God hooks us up with that peace that's like nothing else. It's all about handing over our worries and letting God take care of the rest.

The first time we prayed together as a couple we were both so nervous. We were newly weds. We both got down on the floor on either side of our bed and reached across to hold hands. We silenced the enemy that day as we overcame our fear and prayed out loud over our family and our marriage.

Our last bit of advice is to use scripture in prayer. Jeremiah 1:12 says “Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it”. When we use our mouth to give voice to His words, He hears it and He acts!

We pray that you will take these scriptures and really meditate on them. Allow them to shape your prayers and encourage your confidence in the Lord! We are always available to partner in prayer. You can see us after any service or reach out to us during the week in person or by phone at the church office
